Hi,

my name is Jörg.

Jörg Baldzer

With a lifelong passion for technology, my journey began around the age of 10, tinkering with early computers like the Apple II+ and the C64, before making the transition to the PC world with the 286. From the start, I viewed the computer as an extension of myself, a tool for writing, calculating, and automating. This early focus on the user and the challenges of making technology accessible and user-friendly inspired me to pursue studies in both computer science and psychology.

My career has been consistently driven by the goal of task automation through IT, always operating without departmental silos. I have navigated roles across IT administration, release engineering, QA, and development — a blend of disciplines now commonly known as DevOps. A key value for me has always been ensuring transparency and visibility of both my work and my team's work to the wider organization. As a crucial link between IT and business departments, I specialize in helping various teams recognize their core processes to boost efficiency using IT tools, automation, and AI.

In leadership roles, my priority is hiring passionate individuals who share my drive. Recognizing that IT is a service provider, customer devotion is a fundamental value. Success, however, is built on a team that is cohesive, collaborative, and committed to learning from mistakes.

Even in my free time, my dedication to technology remains. I continue to expand my home automation system using various Raspberry Pis and a sensor network based on ESP32 modules, or I spend time playing with Docker containers on my home server. My interests also include Lego, baking bread, and making terrariums.
